Certified to the Standard That Defines Water Restoration

Anyone can rent a fan. Certified restoration means classified water, calculated drying, and verified results. Here are the credentials behind every DryOut Inc job.

Why credentials matter

Water damage is a science, not a guess

A flooded home can look dry while the wall cavity behind it stays wet enough to destroy drywall and grow mold. Certification is how you know the company in your home measures that hidden moisture instead of guessing at it, and dries to a published standard your insurer also recognizes.

Quick answer

DryOut Inc is an IICRC-certified firm. Our technicians are trained in water damage restoration and applied structural drying, every job follows the ANSI/IICRC S500 standard for professional water damage restoration, and we are licensed and insured in Florida. Jobs are scoped and documented in Xactimate, the estimating platform most insurance carriers use.

IICRC-Certified Firm

The IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification) is the industry's main certifying body. As a certified firm, we commit to its standards, ethics and continuing education requirements, and our work can be measured against them.

ANSI/IICRC S500 Standard

The S500 is the professional standard for water damage restoration: how to classify water by contamination category and affected class, how to set drying goals, and how to verify them. It is the playbook on every DryOut Inc job, large or small.

Water Restoration Technician Training

Our technicians complete IICRC water restoration training covering extraction, moisture detection, drying equipment and safety. It is the foundational certification for anyone who dries a structure professionally.

Applied Structural Drying Training

Advanced drying training focused on psychrometrics: using temperature, humidity and airflow calculations to dry a building efficiently. This is the training that separates calculated drying from leaving fans running and hoping.

Licensed and Insured in Florida

We carry Florida licensing and full liability insurance for restoration work, and we provide certificates to condo associations, HOAs and property managers on request. Documentation your building requires is ready before you ask for it.

Xactimate Documentation

Every scope is written in Xactimate, the line-item estimating platform most insurers and adjusters use. Combined with photo documentation and daily moisture logs, it gives your claim the format carriers process fastest.

Inside the standard

How S500 classifies your water loss

When our technician walks into a flooded home, the first job is classification. The S500 standard sorts water by contamination category and the loss by how much material is wet, and those two answers decide the extraction method, the safety precautions and the size of the drying setup. It is why two floods that look identical can honestly need different scopes.

Category describes the water itself: clean water from a supply line, water with some contamination such as an appliance discharge, or grossly contaminated water such as storm flooding. Class describes how much of the structure is wet and how hard it will be to dry, from a single room with minimal absorption to fully saturated walls, ceilings and floors.

Classification also sets the finish line. Drying goals are defined for each material, and our daily meter readings track progress against them. Equipment comes out when the numbers say dry, not when the surface feels dry.

Certification is maintained, not framed

Credentials only matter if they stay current. Our technicians complete continuing education to maintain their IICRC certifications, train on new drying equipment as it enters the fleet, and work under project leads who review moisture logs on active jobs. Moisture meters and monitoring equipment are checked and replaced on schedule, because a verified result is only as good as the instrument that measured it.

  • IICRC continuing education for certified technicians
  • Project lead review of drying logs on every active job
  • Calibrated moisture meters and thermal imaging on every truck
  • Safety training for contaminated water and electrical hazards
  • Background-checked, uniformed crews in your home
What it means for you

Why certified drying protects your home and claim

For homeowners, certification shows up as outcomes: a structure proven dry instead of assumed dry, less demolition because drying was targeted, and a home that does not develop odor or mold growth weeks after the crew leaves. In Florida humidity, mold can begin growing within 24 to 48 hours of a water event, so verified fast drying is also your best mold prevention.

For your insurance claim, it shows up as paperwork. Adjusters process S500-documented jobs faster because the classification, readings and line items match the framework they use themselves. When a carrier questions a scope, our moisture logs answer with measurements, not opinions.

Before you hire any restoration company, ask two questions: are your technicians certified, and will I see the final moisture readings? If the answers are vague, keep looking.
